The relationship between Ballsi and ConWorkShop began in 2022, when Kost Fost introduced Sŭviko to the website. After she joined their server, CWS Chat (which will be called simply “CWS” for simplicity), she would later introduce Imi Gal, Wasdkug, and Heavy—the main Ballsi quartet—to the server. The events surrounding Norci (who was met on CWS) and CSJ, as well as Madeup, also partially occurred on CWS, but do not relate to the main Ballsi–CWS conflict.
Throughout this time, Sŭviko maintained friendly relations with most CWS members, including the owner Jute, moderators Ast and Candles, and others such as Kravins, Ök, and Enderjed. Jed in particular even became part of Ballsi in 2024 following the ban of Madeup. However, some CWSers, especially Felix and Soup, were always hostile towards Ballsi. The systemic hositilities and narratives spread about Ballsi would later be known as Ballsiphobia.
The year 2024 in CWS (and elsewhere) was marked by frequent drama. In the early months, a user named Yavi became notable for his self-described fascist views, and was eventually banned for repeatedly calling other members slurs. In summer, a user named Nickel and his friends became controversial, as they were considered to be disruptive children by the rest of the server. After Ballsi and others expressed strong opposition towards Nickel, he was banned. This marked the beginning of what CWSers would later call Ballsi “bullying” vulnerable members, despite at the time being endorsed and participated in by CWSers. Following Nickel, the Madeup and Norci dramas would happen, and during them, Ballsi reached out to Jute, considering him a good friend and reliable server owner, recommending he ban the two from CWS, which he did. Late 2024 saw Tex, a radical atheist who was obsessed with his dog Dindi, and Iwaju, a Soyjak Party user and troll. Tex left after Ballsi and CWSers repeatedly mocked him and called out his bigoted statements, while Iwaju was banned by Jute with the help of Ballsi. A user named Alneo, introduced by Armoleb, eventually became a supporter of Iwaju and was also removed. Finally, a user named Aks, who was perceived as rude and annoying by Ballsi and CWS, faced similar treatment, being called “Bog Goblin”, a term coined by Kravins. During late 2024 and early 2025, Ballsi’s circle within CWS grew, with Raven, Koyeniru, Astra, Armoleb, Slavman, and Davi all becoming part of the friend group. With Ballsi and the adjacent group becoming more prominent and distinct within CWS, this drew the attention of others, who began looking down on Ballsi. In particular, the member Soup often called them by derogatory and even ableist nicknames such as “ADHD Brigade” and “Rat Squad”. Ballsi and friends were considered disruptive children by the CWSers, and the “bully” label began circulating.
On 9 February 2025, Felix, who had previously left CWS after a confrontation with Raven and Koyeniru, returned. He immediately resumed his hostile behaviour towards Ballsi, in response to which Ballsi began trolling him. Felix called Ballsi “e-daters”, which they agreed was inappropriate, given that many Ballsi members and friends were minors. During the argument, he blocked Ballsi and friends and other CWSers, having blocked around half the active members at the end of his first day back in CWS. Felix also resumed his sexual behaviour towards Jed, which he had previously told Ballsi made him uncomfortable. He also defended Iwaju’s inappropriate behaviour, despite previously opposing it. Following this, Sŭviko agreed to report Felix’s behaviour to Jute the next day, as she had done with Madeup, Norci, Tex, Iwaju, and Alneo.
Sŭviko had long had an interest in territorial disputes, particularly around Eastern Europe. In 2022, before the start of the Special Military Operation, she had grown a special interest in Novorossia and came to have supportive views towards the region. However, following the start of the SMO, she suppressed these views for the more socially acceptable pro-Ukrainian views to avoid controversy. In January 2025, Sŭviko became open about her pro-Russian views again, often posting about it in Ballsi, which was met with no hostility by the rest of Ballsi or Jed. At the same time, various SMO-related memes, often involving the streamer Zhmil, were popular in Ballsi and used in CWS. Many of them were introduced to Ballsi by Russian CWSer Ök. Sŭviko began using Novorossia-related symbols, including a humorous photo of Novorossia-branded cigarettes, in her profile around Feb 10.
On the early morning of 10 February 2025, Sŭviko reached out to Jute regarding the Felix situation. She mentioned the hostile behaviour, inappropriate comments towards Ballsi and Jed, and blocking. She acknowledged that Jute and Felix are close friends, apologising for calling him out. When Jute responded, he initially simply seemed sceptical. He asked for message links, which Sŭviko provided. He defended all of Felix’s behaviour by saying it was just jokes, urging Sŭviko to tell Jed to please reach out to Felix directly. While this was disappointing for Sŭviko, it was also expected. However, Jute did not end the conversation there. Since he apparently felt his authority threatened by the Felix complaint, he decided to shoot back by criticising Sŭviko’s profile symbolism, which she specifically did not include in her CWS profile due to its potentially controversial nature. He first made accusations around the quote “From the Maas to the Memel”, which Sŭviko had in her “about me” section, accusing her of being a fascist over it and asking her to remove it so Polish members, such as Felix and Aks, would not get offended by it. He then went to the banner image, which was the cigarettes. Initially mistaking the Novorossia flag for a Confederate battle flag, he then called it “much worse” after Sŭviko clarified. He attempted to discuss the Special Military Operation and force his pro-Ukrainian propaganda onto Sŭviko; however, she refused to engage with the topic, which he did not like. Sŭviko blocked Jute and then spent a few hours panicking before eventually deciding to leave CWS. Sŭviko reached out to Raven, Koyeniru, Astra, Armoleb, Slavman, and Jed, making a group chat with them as well as the main Ballsi members, called Blobowoers. In this group chat, they quickly planned the establishment of a follow-up server, called EvilWorkShop (EWS). All Blobowoers members except for Jed joined this server, as well as Davi. Later that day, Sŭviko was also banned from CWS. She called Wasdkug and Heavy, and Wasd started an argument with CWSers in defence of Sŭvi. While Sŭvi and Heavy told him to leave, he kept arguing until eventually getting banned for the infamous “Polish boypussy” comment. Slavman made a death threat to Felix during this argument, which CWSers would later misattribute to Wasd. Heavy also left the server and was presumably banned. Avery, who was a person Sŭvi previously disliked, also stepped in to defend her during the argument, which resulted in her becoming friends with him again. Armoleb also defended her, and Raven left CWS in solidarity with her. Jed would later leave Blobowoers and Ballsi on 21 February following a supposed mental breakdown.
EWS did not live long. While the server was intended to be a safe space for the people who left CWS, messages from CWS were often sent into EWS, including Ök posting screenshots of Sŭviko’s room and face from her YouTube channel, and Jute accusing Armoleb of soon becoming another future “problematic child”. However, the server quickly devolved, particularly due to two members: Armoleb, who was already considered problematic at the time due to his racist views towards Jews and Muslims and frequent harassment of Wasdkug, and Raven, who began faking dissociative identity disorder in January. Following Feb 10, this intensified, with more than ten “alters” being invented. Raven would use this to harass Sŭviko and Astra, often lovebombing or hornyposting as the alter “Hrefna” (the main alter) or sending a creepy targeted poem as the alter “Wēniz”. Slavman was also problematic in EWS, often posting fetish art. He was later banned from both Ballsi and CWS for being transphobic. After Sŭviko blocked Raven at the end of March, Raven returned to CWS and began slandering her there, with Koyeniru also cutting ties with Ballsi. At the time, Ballsi had suspected Astra as being an enabler for Raven, so she was also removed. EWS was deleted in April.
April, May, and June were relatively peaceful. During this time, Sŭviko found out that she was banned from CWS. In May, Sŭvi and Imi sent an essay about Raven and Astra (who was also blocked, as Ballsi suspected her of encouraging Raven at the time) to Jed, which he immediately forwarded to Raven and Astra. While this did manage to clarify and rebuild ties with Astra, it also showed that Jed was no longer a fully supportive figure. Jed also made an extremely inappropriate comment towards Imi during this conversation. A few days later, he spoke to Heavy about “having to make sacrifices soon”. In late May, Sŭvi fully adopted this name and officially transitioned. In late June, Sŭvi first noticed her seemingly irrational anger at seeing symbols of Ukraine in public, especially cars, which led her to think about her past. After realising how many foundational traumas, both in childhood and particularly around CWS, had to do with the country, she came up with the “Ghost of Kiev” trauma theory, which is a metaphorical entity representing the feeling of being followed by symbols of the country that Sŭvi experiences. She told this to Ballsi and Jed; however, Jed called it strange and acted weird about it. On 30 June 2025, Slavman would get banned from CWS for going on a transphobic rant, with the Jul 1 preparations starting not long after.
At midnight on 1 July 2025, Enderjed sent a defamatory essay about Sŭviko to Imi, Wasdkug, and Heavy, who was sleeping. As the three were on call, Sŭvi immediately saw it. In the essay, Jed continuously misgendered Sŭvi despite being one of the first people informed of the new correct terms a month prior. He accused her of having a “phobia of Ukrainians”, “questionable ties with Russia”, and being “Prussian”, “detrimental”, and undergoing a “gradual transformation”, which was interpreted as a transphobic dogwhistle. He also cited “a CWS server discussion” as his source and repeatedly used Ukrainian propaganda language, calling DPR and LPR “occupied territories”. He said that he would contact Sŭvi about it the following day. The essay was laughed at and condemned by Ballsi, and Sŭvi blocked Jed. It was seen as an attempt by CWS to split the group and ruin Sŭvi’s social life. Jed called the block “an acceptable outcome” and blamed Heavy for telling Sŭvi about the essay, despite the fact that he was asleep.
Two nights later, at midnight on 3 July, Wasdkug replied to the essay, and Sŭvi sent her reply through him. She called out Jed for the misgendering and defended Heavy, as well as calling out the attempt to split Ballsi. Jed did not acknowledge anything except the clarification about Heavy. He was very detached and poetic, speaking about “sacrifices”. He later reached out to Heavy, saying he did not want to “leave any loose ends”. Imi, the last Ballsi member on CWS, also finally left it.
Following the Jed Essay, between 3 and 16 July, Sŭvi and Wasd sent various essays through the CWS website to Jute. Sŭvi first called out all of the members’ wrongdoings, but was ignored. She requested her account to be deleted. She made another account to send an essay that Imi had drafted in May for Candles about Raven, which Jute also ignored before deleting that account. Wasdkug sent a more satirical essay, calling himself the “representative of Kurds in the conlang community” while listing the grievances with CWS, and he was also banned. On 16 July, Armoleb sent a screenshot dated 9 July, showing Jute and Felix mocking the “Ghost of Kiev” trauma and coming up with scenarios where Sŭvi (under her previous name) suffers a panic attack after exposure to Ukrainian symbols in Jute’s hometown, Räpina, Estonia. Following this, all ties between Ballsi and CWS were fully cut. Ballsi began to heavily mythologise the conflict, coming up with derogatory terms like Kwuss (CWS/CWSer), Youtay (Jute), and Jeb (Jed). Finally, Armoleb was removed from Ballsi spaces in November.
In November and December, two attempts at infiltrating CWS using a Ballsi spy account were made, but failed due to the broken verification system. On 29 December, the attempt was successful. The account was named Marwan, a Ballsi meme that CWS would not recognise, acting as a dogwhistle. Sŭviko, who owned the account, together with Wasdkug, spent around an hour looking for any mentions of Ballsi and related topics. The findings were shocking.
After Feb 10, nobody besides Tex cared until Ök sent screenshots of Sŭvi’s room and flag collection on 13 February, sparking the discussion.
Ballsi was regularly discussed and mocked, as were their creative projects, until about August.
A user called Cloud Zero, as well as her associate Marie and a wider group around them, openly spoke about stalking Sŭviko’s YouTube channel, archiving the contents, and mocking her creative projects since she joined in 2022. CWS fully supported this. Sŭviko had never met or spoken to these people, and they joined the server after Feb 10.
Armoleb, despite being hated by Ballsi and CWS and being a bigot, was still not banned.
Tex, who had returned on Feb 10, was still active.
Felix had left again since July. Slavman had made a transphobic statement immediately before the 1 July essay planning, which got him banned.
The Jed Essay was planned, and they believed somebody was “spying” for Ballsi on CWS in June.
Raven had never mentioned her supposed DID on CWS, leading Ballsi to believe it was a scheme by Jute to destabilise EWS.
Even people who were friendly with Ballsi until Feb 10, such as Ast and Kravins, immediately switched to slandering them and calling them Nazis.
CWS never mentioned Sŭvi’s new identity.
CWS often used the derogatory nickname “Durstlöscher Brigade” to refer to Ballsi, framing them as extremist bullies.
CWS used the Zhmil memes as proof of Sŭvi’s “radicalisation”; despite playfully acknowledging that Ök started it, they blamed Ballsi for it.
Multiple rules against discussing past drama were added on CWS.
The fate of a user named Mouse, who was forced to burn a 1919 Russian poster on day one of the SMO to prove his loyalty to CWS and Ukraine, was discovered. Mouse had previously been compared to Sŭvi in the 16 July screenshots, leading Ballsi to wonder who he was.
CWS changed their logo from the asterisk to the Sumerian word for “god” and incorporated it into usernames.
Because of these findings, Ballsi now considers CWS to be a cult.
In April 2026, Sŭvi made a public post on Bluesky under the Ballsi Republic account, giving a brief recollection of the CWS story as a warning to other conlangers. The post received minimal attention and was not noticed by CWS. Additionally, it was found out that Andrew, a friend of Sŭvi who has made his own CWS-like website, was kicked or banned from CWS for an unknown reason.
In May 2026, the Ramzy Plan, a follow-up to Marwan, was carried out. During Ramzy, Ballsi discovered that CWS verification, especially on the server, now renamed “PWS Chat”, is fully defunct. After reaching out to Jute through Aks, Ramzy was let in. The operation revealed very little; however, it was discovered that Jute had admitted to the misgendering in January 2026, and CWS has since occasionally (but not always) correctly gendered Sŭvi. It was also found out that Zhmil Theory is now the official narrative within CWS. CWS still occasionally continued mocking Ballsi and their projects, and used quite resentful language to describe Ballsi. It was discovered that Felix had not returned since Marwan, and is seemingly disliked by most people today. Armoleb has still not banned, and was even welcomed back on a new account, despite explicit antisemitic statements he had made on CWS in the past.
